| The Austrian violinist/singer/composer/songwriter Rose Bartu, a 2002 graduate from the New School Jazz Program, lives in NYC, has produced & recorded 3 CDs independently, worked with jazz artists like Joanne Brackeen, Billy Hart, Butch Morris, James Hurt, David Gilmore, Universal Records artist Cheik Tidiane Seck (Paris), Afro-Cuban band Los Jovenes del Barrio to name a few. As a bandleader she has toured 3 times through Austria, was the featured artist for the project “Schnittpunkte” at the Jazz Festival “Limmitationes”/Austria and played at Clubs like the Blue Note NYC, S.O.B.s, Jazzgallery and others. Other projects include a recording of Astor Piazzolla compositions, first violinist of the Vela String Quartet, concertmaster of Janacek’s opera “Jenufa” of the Vertical Player Repertory Ensemble and many more. She received numerous awards, among others a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. Her music has been played on the main radio station of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, WNTI FM 91.9 (New Jersey) and MDT FM 89.9 (Albuquerque). |
